Before I go any further, I
have to say that I don't like the over-commercialisation of Christmas
and think we should concentrate more on the birth of Our Lord than
worshipping the Holy Overdraft. Now some branches of Christianity
believe that we should do away with it altogether but, after all, the
upside is usually a the best church attendance of the year.
Now if you are buying
presents and feel the need to think up something original, you can do
worse than buy one of my books, which are much cheaper than a
decent-sized turkey. Binoculars are also good, too, provided that you
don't aim them at the Sun without using suitable filters.
I will record a Queenesque
Christmas message on YouTube when we get nearer the time and over the
next few weeks, I'll be adding more Christmas songs and am looking for
the
first reported sighting of Christmas cards and produce in shops and
will report them here. Harrods had a Christmas display in September and
someone in a neighbouring street put Christmas lights out in
mid-December.
